After we ate brunch, we ran to the aiarport.  "Just a quick 47 minute flight to baltimore" they said.  Well, we got most of the way here, and then we got stuck in a holding pattern due to weather.  Then we were going to land.  THen we got stuck in another holding pattern.  Then we got to go to Raleigh to get gas.  Then we finally got to come back and land, at 6 instead of 3.  What fun.  Sarah and I hung out and then I got some sleep.

5-26-01
Wedding day!  We woke up and got ready and then sat around and watched cartoons.  Finally it was time to leave for teh church.  I got to go be a girl, Michelle (friend), Brittany (cousin) and Me were in charge of helping with makeup and getting the dresses on without getting makeup on the dresses!  Then we all helped Eileen into her dress and stood around and took pictures in the sunday school room.  Since it was raining, Michelle and I got to carry the trane (train?) of the dress, so we had to duck to try not to be in too many pictures!!  The wedding was beautiful and then we blew bubbles instead of throwing rice.  After the bridal party left in the limo, Michelle and her husband and I were in charge of taking care of all the stuff that was left behind.  We crammed everything into a car and followed the limos to the grandparents house.  How ironic- the grandparents live right by Ursuline!!! :)  I sat around and watched the game with the groomsmen while the girls took naps.  Then we went to the reception.  Suzanne came and we partied all night long.  Chris and Michelle danced on the speakers, once we got enough wine in Michelle. :)  Then Suzanne and I went home and gave her sister all the gossip so she can start planning her wedding.  Of course we got like no sleep at all. :)

5-25-01
What a day!  I woke up and flew to Ohio.  Steve picked me up and then we hung out with Louis (Best man) and Misty (bridesmaid) at home for awhile.  Then, the boys adn I took Eileen's family on a tour of Cleveland on Lolly the Trolly . It was so cool!  We went home becuase I heard that the girls were all over and they were watching a movie with Heath, and I couldn't possibly miss that. :)  Then Steve and I went to the game and stayed at his house becuase the wedding is in the morning!!!

5-24-01
We have all the stuff IN the apartment now...now it just needs to be organized.  Leaving for the wedding in the morning!!! :)

5-21-01

Dropped off all my papers today and had two doctor's appointments.  Turns out that I have a herniated disk plus some inflammation where the spine and pelvis meet.  Who would have guessed.  That isn't exactly a moveable joint!  Although, they pushed on the "fibro points" and then made this dx.  So maybe they're not fibro points after all?  How weird would that be.  Or this is just fibro pain.  Either way, they told me to do PT for a month and then I should be fixed! Woohoo!!

5-20-01

Work work work!  And brought some stuff to the apartment.  Met the little kids who are our neighbors.  We now have pet geese - Mommies, Daddies, Teenagers, and Babies!  We have furniture and stuff in our house now woohoo!  I finished everything except my science final exam, too.  Go me!

5-19-01

Family brought stuff today, that was quite the event.  Back went out again, couple hours after the MRI.  Painful stuff.  I shall survive!:)

5-18-01

The Day Of New Apartment!  Very busy.  Drove from here to apt to here to Elkton Gas to here to Mt. Pleasant to here to mall to here.  Yowza!  Mt. Pleasant was AWESOME.  I miss them so much.  They were all excited to see me.  One of the kids saw me before I got to the room, and confused everyone.

D: That lady is here!

Mrs Hudson: What lady?

D: That lady that helped us!

MH: What lady that helped us?

D: The one in the picture!

MH: What picture?

D: The one I'm not in!

Then he went and brought the picture over and pointed me out.  Then I showed up.  Luckily it had been a field trip day so me and my Jeans fit in ok.  I saw my 310 prof and the people I worked with at the computer place too so that was nice.  I also met a cool rookie who gave me hints and recommended Esme's book. :)

5-17-01

No, it's never over.  We worked on math stuff from 1:30 til the test started at 5.  Test wasn't too bad, I don't think...but she isn't going to grade it for like 2 weeks so we'll find out then!  Friends and ER - WOW!!  I'm guessing she's either pregnant in real life or trying.  Betcha it's Ross!  But when did it happen?  In the Porche in that episode?  Hmm...and ER!!  Did he really kill him?!?!

5-16-01

Well, it's over.  No more classes.  I'm still crazy busy though - explain that one! :)  The day came and went without much excitement.  Nachos at Kate's to celebrate the end.  Counting down now to the "Student Teacher Bar Crawl" in December!!  Dawson's was beautiful as always.  I am really amused that I hate this Joey/Pacey thing and yet Pacey keeps telling me things I need to hear!  Luckily Andi was only back for the day, I think I hate her. :)  Sleep now!

5-15-01

One more day!  I went back to student health today, for my follow up appointment.  Turns out that he thinks something might actually be wrong now, so I have an MRI on Saturday.  I don't care, I just want to be better.  He calls me Jen instead of Jenny, I think he thinks he's being friendly.  Who cares, as long as I get fixed!  Then I did homework literally all day!  I am almost done though.  24 more hours!  We went to Peace A Pizza tonight and I got to eat some cuase it was cold.  It was awesome.  Heaven.  Then we watched last night's BP.  ANyone else think that psycho mommy is tied up in the basement or dead?  How cool would that be!?!  And they're so gonna make Harry cool again.  He hasn't been on nearly enough lately.  Maybe he's filming a movie or something that is keeping him away from us.  We can hope! Sleep now!

5-14-01

Well, after being awake to some ungodly hour of the morning and falling asleep on the couch and being woken up at 8am by Kev when he came to get Natalie and printing off the 50 pages of the Social Studies project...the teacher didn't show up to class.  I was a little mad.  I turned it into her mailbox to get it out of my hands.  We did so much work today.  We worked on our science poster (it is SO cool) and our 320 exam (due tomorrow) and our 436 exam (due Wednesday).  Next comes Math. (Due thursday) and Edtech (Due monday - that's years away!)  At night we went to an E-52 BBQ and taped BP so that we could enjoy it tomorrow on Tuesday, the day of nothing good on tvness.

5-13-01

Another day that my eyes popped open at 8am.  I hope I don't grow old with this disease! :)  We went home for the day for Mother's Day and RO practice.  I managed to get a little work done, but I have so much more left to do...Kevin's lab partners finally came to visit us!  Our room never gets clean, we have realized...We don't know we manage to make it has tornado-y as it is.  Anyone wanna be our live in maid?! :)

5-12-01

Oh my goodness!  I got to meet Lisa's parents and fall in love with a movie star all in one day!  We went to see "A Knight's Tale."  I highly recommend it.  I'll admit, it's predictable and unrealistic, but it's SO GOOD!    Quality one liners bring high praises from me, you know that. ;)  Make it Take it went well, we all made some cute posters.  Meanwhile, my back is broken again I think.  Must do something about this!  I'd also like to say that I hate that my body automatically gets up at 8am on weekends now...it just isn't fair! :)

5-11-01

I didn't think I'd miss my Redding kids, but now I think I might.  More like I miss the camp kids rather than my 3rd graders, but still.  A bunch of them brought me stuff today - it was so cool and unexpected!  I got candy, a stuffed monkey, and lots of school supplies.  Not to mention a zillion email addresses. ;)  This weekend is going to bring a TON of work to get done for the end of the semester!  I went shopping with my shop-a-holic friends tonight and bought so much stuff it's scary.  I did get a dress and shoes to wear to the wedding though, so that was a good thing.  Tonight was supposed to be pudding wrestling night, but I can't even see straight from exhaustion so we didn't go.  I can't take all the credit, Natalie is sleepy too.  Tomorrow night is still up in the air, waiting to see if anyone at home wants to play!  Natalie is going to the auction to see if she can find herself a desk and I am afraid she will come home with more furniture than will fit in our apartment. :)  She got to use her new cell phone today, woohoo!

5-10-01

Tomorrow's our last day at Redding! :(  2 months til my birthday!  In case you were wondering, you can't buy potted roses at this time of year.  I know you care.  Dinner at the mall at Ruby Tuesdays = blue margarita!  Natalie got a cell phone but she can't use it for 20 hours.

5-9-01

I got my student teaching placement today!  I'm teaching 1st graders from August until October or so and we will find out about the 2nd placement later.  How scary is this?  For about 30 little kids, I will be their first memory of school. Ack!  I have never been scared of teaching before, but now I really have to TEACH them stuff.  Not just add to the arsenal of info in their brain...we're talking to real basics here.  ACK!  Breathing....breathing.... I'm ok now.  It's all good.  We drove to Maryland and picked up plants and went to Townsend and put plant orders together today too.  That was fun.  I didn't wind up teaching today because we ran out of time in math class taking a quiz.  Tomorrow I teach social studies I believe.  Fun stuff!  We are trying to think of something fun to do with our kids on Friday before we leave.  Something CHEAP!  :)  Let us know if you have any good ideas.  I'm also looking for craft ideas for the summer time!  I'm also looking for a job for June...I was thinking TSI, but I'm not so sure if I want to or not.  Time for ranting now.  I just want to say that I really hate that I have some absolutely GREAT ideas and I think Kiliaen is on to something when she says if you let your ideas out, they get stolen!!!!!!!!!!  Annoyed be me.  If you want the whole story, let me know and I'll talk your ear off.  Let's just say post college plans may have to be altered. Grr. <smiles> Ok all better now. Natalie is making me watch the country music awards now so I'm going to go watch for the cute boy and hope he isn't wearing that weird sequined jacket. :)

5-8-01

We painted flower pots today.  It was kind of fun.  We also taught day 2 of Friction and day 1 of WWI.  Splendid fun all around.  You know, I don't understand why I can tell someone something for years, and they blow me off...but then someone else tells them the exact same thing and they take it as the gospel truth.  Can anyone explain that to me, cuase I'm bewildered!  As summer creeps closer, I am really really missing the ability to go on a boat!  Anyone wanna pamper me in that way? It'd be much appreciated....

5-7-01

Intensive week begins...it's gonna be, um, intense.  Actually it's not that bad because I'm home by 4 and don't have any night classes.  That means I can enjoy quality television such as Boston Public.  I taught science today, half the world came to watch.  There is always Me, Jeanette, and the regular teacher.  Then you add the 2, sometimes 3 aides that come with the kids from down the hall.  So that brings us to 6 adults.  Then add Mr. Purple Pants, (the supervisor) and Zoubeida (The science methods teacher) and the principal (who wanted to tell the teacher she won teacher of the year.)  All in all, it was quite the party.  Tomorrow we tackle WWI in Social Studies....

5-6-01

We drove all the way to Baltimore today, in hopes of getting to see Mike pitch wearing gray.  It didn't happen, but we had a good time in Baltimore anyway!  I can now officially say, after 16 years of living in Baltimore, that I have done the paddle boats in the harbor.  WOOHOO!  Mike beat the O's for a Yankee's sweep.  There was a plane flying around with a sign sponsored by 98 rock that said "Mike Who$ina?"  That made me sad, but I got over it.  We got to go shopping at Sears tonight and get a discount.  I bought lots of clothes.  Best of all, Pete cooked us chicken.  Go Pete!  We talked to Vandy Bryan - he is coming to visit for our housewarming party!  Yea!  After Natalie and Kevin got some more embarrassing stories out of me (There are WAY too many to tell) I went to sleep...

5-5-01

Cinco de Mayo!  It was not bad weather for Mallstock, yea!  Lester made us our balloon hats, the day was complete!  Then we ran around frantically trying to make the KDP banquet fly.  It did, thankfully.  Finished up with a chic flic including Freddie Prinze, Jr.  I forgot to mention that I saw Igor, er, Gary at Outback on Friday.  All alone at the bar.  Scary guy, scary guy.  We're going to Baltimore tomorrow in an attempt to get tickets to see Mike pitch!!!  Everyone's home from school for the summer now...it is very depressing to those of us who are still have a week and a half til May 16th.  Now we just need people to come home from school to either live by us or like us enough to play with us!

5-4-01

Honors Day was today.  I solved part of the mystery of who nominated me.  It was Mrs. Sacher "and others."  Got to eat at Outback for the 2nd time in a month, and I actually got to EAT this time.  Had a 2nd dinner at Olive Garden with Lisa and Tammy and then got a sweet tooth and saw Miss Congeniality.  There will be MEGA quotes from that movie, as soon as I sit down and remember them!  For those of you who have pointed out my wrong predictions, I say to you, how the heck was I supposed to know Colby would take the suicide route?  Mallstock is tomorrow, it will undoubtedly be not so sunny...

5-3-01

Caution: SURVIVOR SPOILER!

Wow, that was awesome.  We apologize to people like Jill and Chris who were unaware how loudly we could scream.  But both tribal councils were definitely worthy of a scream!  I really liked how they made the set on the soundstage and everyone had the same outfit on.  Although Tina probably felt pretty dumb since she was in such an ugly outfit and everyone else was all dressed up.  All in all, a completely awesome show.  I like that the person I wanted to win won.  Now it's time for Survivor on the African Savannah!  My back is feeling much better today, I can move!  We saw Kathryn and Brijana and had a nice long talk with them standing on the sidewalk in the middle of everywhere. ;)  Our survivor party and food was much fun!  Sleep now, teaching tomorrow!

5-2-01

The drama that is my life continues!  After daddy called and yelled at the health center people I went and visited there but they still weren't very nice.  They told me nothing serious is wrong because it comes and goes, and if it was a serious nerve thing it'd stay.  However, he did give me the "I think you should know I don't believe Fibromyalgia exists" line, so he's not on the list of people I like right now.  On a happier note, Dawson's was quite possibly the most clarifying hour of television I've ever seen.  Pacey told Joey everything I needed to hear, and Dawson took care of her like I knew he would.  Gretchen stressed the importance of finding yourself, and even Drue helped by reminding us that it's always better to go forward than backward.  Jen showed us that drinking on a boat is never quite a good idea, and Jack and Toby taught us that you can't ignore feelings that are there.  Most importantly, Joey told Pacey to go to hell for ruining her prom.

5-1-01

Welcome to May!  We taught today, but it was Tuesday which means DARE day and that means Jenny reads another book in the Ramona series.  Today was Ramona and Her Mother.  Good book.  I also got some quality reading time in while I was in the ER all night.  Woohoo.  The annoying back spasms of October turned into the "sprained back" of December and then went away.  Saturday night I could barely move and today it started happening all over my body.  Since Student Health told me to "visit my family Dr" and my family DR ain't so much in the area, we decided the ER was the only choice I had at that time of the day.  It took forever.  It was a looooooong night.  I came out of there having read two more books, had 4 x-rays taken, got poked and prodded (have you ever noticed how much MORE you hurt after the dr's when they poke you?) and with 2 prescriptions.  Eventually I found a pharmacy that is open late, but it was way over back by the hospital, so I took another trip over there.  Like I said, long night.  However, pharmacies here get your drugs to you mucho fasto, not like the all night places at home that say "that'll be ready at 4:15am, dearie!"  Now I have my drugs, and even tho they are sleepy drugs, I am going to take them tomorrow and just not be awake during class.  That's what my Podmates are for.  As long as I'm there in body, it counts for the grade.  I'm thinking I'm leaving my stylish bracelet on for excuses. :)  Thankfully, this all happened on the one day this semester that I've been caught up on work!

4-30-01

Another month is over.  Another month closer to having to be an adult and pay bills!  I can't believe it's May in just a couple hours.  I am awaiting May 16th more anxiously than ever before!  It signals the end of this life!  My LAST last day of school!  I am overly caught up on my school work, it's rather scary.  I'm always working so hard to stay caught up, I don't know how to feel now that I am.  I did SO much today.  Pete and Matt and I went to the pet store and Pete got attacked by a ferret and we went to K-mart and bought underwear and looked at leopard print bras and then Natalie and I went to the store to shop for our Survivor party and spent WAY too much money because our fridge and freezer and cabinets were all empty.  We are rich in the food area now, and poor in the $$$ way.  BP was on tonight, and hot guy didn't get nearly enough air time.  I hope they find a way for Freaks and Geeks boy to come back and not be expelled because I like him too, even if he is psycho.

4-29-01

Up early as usual, did a TON of work today.  Took a break to have dinner with my family at Kahunaville.  I won a lot of tickets because they had a game just like Snood.  Go me!  Then more work.  More work in the morning.  Always more work.  Kyle finally made it a reasonable price to go home. Woohoo!  Natalie got to meet Lisa's baby FINALLY!

4-28-01

You know me, the over analyzer when it comes to symbolism.  ('Cept with reading for school, then I lose that skill completely!)  Ok here's the deal.  Friday night, we were apparently stalking Chris since we ran into him about 10 times on our travels around campus.  Then what do I find out?  He lived on the 3rd floor of Russell D our first year.  <spooky music playing>  How did we find this out?  We saw Frank, that guy we went to NYC with way back in September.  Frank gained a lot of weight and bleached his hair.  He's weird looking and acting.  But he too, you will remember, lives in Russell D - In Kevin and Pete's old room!! <more scary music>  Flash to today, since today is today and that's what I should be concentrating on.  Natalie FORGOT to tell me that the Ag Day package came with s-n-a-k-e-s.  I saw a snake.  Not only was it there, it was right by the FOOD LINE!  So I made Natalie pay for my food cause it was right next to the lady with the snake.  Then I saw out of the corner of my eye, the lady put the snake away.  Then the lady stood up - it was Babs!!  I hadn't seen Babs in years.  For those of you new to my column, Babs was my big back when I was in Gamma Sig years ago.  Now, let it be known that I have no probs with Babs at all - that's why I chose her to be my big. :)  However, the symbolism of snake-ness with Gamma Sig-ness was a little too funny to pass up...

Ag Day was cool other than that.  Matt ate bugs, Karen has two new pets, and we got to eat lemons with peppermint sticks.  We went to watch dancing at night.  Pat did a polka - we found it hard to clap.  We saw Sonny, he's so hot.  Andrew was there too, and lots of other people. :) Then we got subway and milkshakes and watched Billy Elliot.  (We sort of tricked Pete into renting it, but it wound up being enjoyable at least in part, to all of us.)  So the 7 of us watched a movie like old times.  Mad fun, mad fun.

4-27-01
I did way too much today for it to be my day off. After spending what seemed like years working on our science project, it was finally time to be done. This evening we walked to main street, to Perkins, to Trabant, and home. Then we played tennis for 90 minutes and then went back to main campus for free food. I was informed that talking to me is an exercise in listening comprehension. Well, that's not exactly the words that were used...it was more along the lines of "you talk REALLY fast!" Same idea though. Me exhausted. I quit!

4-26-01

CAUTION: CONTAINS SURVIVOR SPOILER

Mr. Periwinkle Pants finally saw me teach today.  He liked me, so I guess I'm allowed to pass 2nd blocks now.  Let me tell you, Periwinkle-ness makes me feel like I'm being run off the road.  Oh wait, you people don't get that joke. Oh well!  I'll just insert that as a random smile to random people that may happen upon our home on the web some day.  Now for ranting.  What the hell is up with my Mike?  I am embarrassed to call him my Mike these days.  How can he suck so bad?  It's horrible.  The O's are pathetic too.  I haven't watched one pitch of baseball yet this year, it makes me too ill.  I'm pissed at Mark Burnett too because I think he's rigging everything so that Colby can keep winning.  Screw them all.  Elisabeth was right about her kicking ass in the final two, don't you think?  I'm in it for Tina, now.  Unfortunately, without an immunity win, she will never make it to the final two because neither boy can beat her against the jury, and they know it.  Elisabeth and Rodger are the only ones (who are in the jury, forget Kel...) that could possibly hold anything against her, and they're too nice to do that.  Guess that means it'll be Colby.  He sucked up too much towards the end, and the jury will probably pick him over Keith.  So, here's my official prediction, keeping in mind I will deny it if it's wrong. :)

Colby wins immunity, again, thanks to Mark Burnett making it some physical challenge.  Then it's tribal council.  Keith and Tina can't vote for themselves and can't vote for Colby, therefore, Colby basically gets to pick who he faces.  He picks Keith.  They both plea to the jury, and the jury picks Colby.  How will they vote? (Their vote indicates who they want to WIN, not who they're voting off...note that change)

Tina: Colby

Elisabeth: Colby

Rodger: Colby

Amber: Colby

Nick: Colby

Jerri: Colby? This is an uncertainty.

Alicia: Keith? To be different? Who knows.  We feel bad that Keith might get swept.

So basically, Colby goes home with a million bucks and a Pontiac Aztek.  After he sells that god awful ugly car and buys something nice (I see him in a pickup, I dunno about you) he has to fend off chocolate loving hormonal women for the rest of his days, until we find out that he's gay and he and Rich from Survivor I run off and live happily ever after.

4-25-01

Gill and I were right about a visit to Deer Park improving math class greatly! :)  School was insane today.  Jeff finally gave in to our pleas to have class outside.  We appreciate it, considering it was only 45 degrees.  I mean, who wants to sweat outside?  Then Nora had to cancel class cause her mom is still sick.  By the time science came around, we were dying for a 75 minute social hour!  Then Lit Prob and poof another break.  Run to the deer park and then come back to math class.  We played with manipulatives again, but didn't get in any trouble this week.  We frantically ran home to watch Dawson's, only to find that Joey was indeed NOT pregnant.  Let's analyze this.  She thinks she is so then she is all stressed out and then she keeps getting later and later.  Hmm.  I didn't really relate to Dawson today, for the first time in a long time.  Cept the distance thing, if you can count that.  We watched last week's Friends and ER...now we only have to wait 24 hours til the next set!  However, if you happened to catch the last 10 min of ER, fill us in, because we ran out of tape!

4-24-01

Little kids are exhausting all the time, but on hot sticky days, it multiplies exponentially.  We got to be the librarian for the afternoon.  Sure, it was "exciting" and all, but there are no windows or air in there and it was hard to stay awake!  Tuesday is also a bummer because there is no good TV on Tuesday night.  Unless W.L. is on and we didn't think about it.  That would be cool!  We made Kyle her copy of all the different videos we owe her.  Of course to do this, we had to watch some.  I can't believe some of the stuff we said that I can't remember.  I am never trying to put a lime through Corona again.  I am pathetic when it comes to that.  And I don't think I should ever feel a need to explain how Nutrasweet travels through the body, as well.  I don't get it...I really wasn't drunk that night.  I swear.  I think Natalie and Kyle are just bad influences on me once we get riled up!  Stayed up SOOO late doing lesson plans that the class was then cancelled for, then, we had a fire alarm in the middle of the night.  The boys and Nathalie did wake us up, but in our infinite wisdom, Natalie remembered that it was Greek Week Bar Crawl night, so it was probably just a fake.  (Someone burned something on the 1st floor, so it WAS real, but they got yelled at for going down late, so sleeping was the better option)  Seems like my luck is changing.  I used to bring cold weather to Vandy...last weekend it was warm, but there WAS a fire alarm...perhaps I have changed my gift. :)

4-23-01

Laura and Almonzo fell in love on Little House today.  I can't imagine living in a time where the guy you fell in love with first was the one you automatically married!  What would that have meant in my life?!?!  No comment.  It was 85 degrees by 10am this morning.  Summer has arrived!  Until next week, when it will snow or something crazy like that.  This morning made me realize that there is nothing like a weekend off to make you need a weekend off.  School was school.  It was 90 degrees by 3:30pm.  Youch!   This week is going to be busy...don't look for many thoughts from me! :)   BP was sad tonight, but we got our hour of weekly Harry worshipping in, so it was all good.  AND, we had a tortellini picnic!  We just brought the bowl and a bunch of forks outside and ate.  Yum!

4-22-01
Didn't I go to bed like an hour ago? I thought so. Something like that. I flew on a plane today, I love to fly on planes. The pilot didn't tell any bad jokes today though. I slept through most of the flight but I got to see DC, Annapolis, all of Route 2, all my schools, and my house and boat. (Well, where my boat will be soon!) After finally finding the Nat(h)alies in the airport, we came home and we sat outside in the hot nice weather. Going to school is going to be really hard now that it's nice out! Jax is coming back in June! Sorry, side note there. Robin's going to be on ER in May in addition to AMC! Ok I'm done with TV updates now. Exhaustion has set in. I kind of realized how emotionally and physically draining this weekend was. I think I burned more calories than I ate! Tonight we went to the Ron Ludington Tribute. Funny how a couple years ago I was so anti that guy cuase he was mean to my friend. It was interesting to watch his reaction to the different skaters tonight. He definatly likes some more than others. We saw a bunch of little girls, a guy in a Blues Brothers outfit (Complete with hat tied onto his head), a incestuous pairs team, Shaun (Who got so tall! Who is doing triple axles! When I met him he wasn't even landing doubles!), that pairs team with the never smiling girl, although she did manage to skate quite well today, my new favorite dance team (American-wise, that is), little gay boy with a broken arm (Reminds me of another convo we had today about what boys do when they break their arms), the really good pairs team with the cute guy, and Dorothy Hamill! It was quite the night. Then we ate steak and went to sleep!

4-21-01
This is it! Saturday! Woohoo! No school! We were going to drive to Hendersonville but the traffic didn't cooperate so we drove around downtown and FOUND THE PEEING BOY! (Ask Kyle for a picture!:) I knew I knew where it was, I just had to re-remember! Then we sat on Alumni with books and stuff and people watched and watched the bands. People said hello to us and we were introduced to more people. The first band had the coolest name - "Bob and the Shi'theads." That's not Shitheads, that would not have an apostrophe. It's shhh-theeds. :) (Yeah right!) Seems like nobody knows Bob but a whole bunch of people know the drummer. After some nice stranger like chats on the lawn, we beat each other up with rubber qtips and strapped ourselves to bungee cord harnesses. Kyle kicked my butt again, but she didn't get hurt this time. We had dinner with Steph and Bryan who dropped us off at the concert with plenty of time until 8pm. We had been told earlier in the day that our $50 tickets would be obstructed view. They lied! They were the best seats in the room! (Cept for maybe the front row.) We were looking right down on top of the stage, from OUR OWN SEMI PRIVATE BOX! It was so cool. We had a counter and everything! We didn't see anyone we knew at the concert, but we spent lots of money on tee shirts. ;) After the show, we decided to walk a little way to get a cab. That turned into walking a LONG way all the way to home. But we are rough, tough, and buff, and we know how to jaywalk, so we managed to do ok. 21 blocks, mostly uphill, go us! Just as we got home and collapsed, the fire alarm went off. We enjoyed a Vandy fire drill - I felt at home. After Bryan and Pat showed us the wonders of their computers and fed us minute maid fruit punch, it was time for bed.

After getting up at the crack of dawn, I sat in Rand and graded papers for hours on end. Luckily Steph came to save me from myself for awhile. I still haven't sat in the baseball glove chair! It got chilly today, definatly no shorts wearing in the future. In fact, it may be time to invest in a Vandy sweatshirt. The Vandy bookstore sells my (new) jacket complete with embroidery. But they have to pay $75 and I only paid $20, so HA! Evening brought the GIANT MOON BOUNCE. We raced, I lost, Kyle got broken. The bookstore only had ugly yellow (gold?) sweatshirts so I invested in a long sleeved tee shirt instead. I rather like it. It's my "I pretend I go to Vandy 4x a year" shirt. :) We went to Outback for dinner (Steakhouse of the land down under...) with me, Kyle, Bryan, Steph and Jenny. (not me, another one!) Jenny and I got to know each other, she's awesome. How come everyone I meet at Vandy has cool jobs like Dizzy Bat girl or sports editor of the newspaper? Jenny told lots of stories. This world keeps getting smaller and smaller. We had misconceptions corrected and added to our arsenal of funny stories. We showed those who hadn't been there before the way to get to love circle and then we went to see Jenny's boy run in a track meet. (More sports things!) Time for Nelly!!! I passed the test as a Vandy girl (Go tee shirt!) and we crammed right down in the middle of the mosh pit til it got too weird, then we went to the outskirts. Again running into people we know! After Nelly we just hung out and watched TV til we fell asleep. (We're boring - deal with it, we do!)

It's the day we've all been waiting for! Well, at least Kyle and I have. I woke up in Maryland, to a nice bed of frost on the grass. After a nice quick flight, I was in sunny Nashville! I even had to change into shorts. Since Kyle decided running around was more important than Bio, we ran all over campus. We saw WC and then we watched them set up for Rites and then we had lunch with Ally and Bryan. After that, Kyle had to go to work. So we walked ALLL the way over to Peabody. Then I walked back and put pants on and graded some papers and then walked back. Saw even more people I know. After a quick Peabody tour and info session thingy, I read a book under a tree and snuck into the Education LIbrary which was no help whatsoever in writing a lesson plan about World War I! :) Kyle enjoyed reading random away messages, and I talked to Natalie, Kevin, and Sarah on the phone. While Kyle was at class after work, I hung out with Steph and then it was 7pm. In this time zone we only have to wait til 7 to watch Survivor! Survivor made me cry multiple times, how pathetic am I? :) Then it was time for Rites! :) We tried our darndest not to bother anyone and just enjoyed the music. Perhaps there will be a meal in the future, we're not sure yet. We do know that lots of people have tickets to Billy Joel and Elton John on Saturday night, how ironic, eh? Ally, Steph, Kyle, and I were up late talking about anything and everything, as usual!

School. All day. It was boring. Dawson's was good. Next week's episode is called "Late." I think that will have something to do with our idea of Joey getting pregnant. (For those of you who are not frequent readers of my column, Joey, like Kyle, is a female!) Then I went home and went to sleep. Nashville tomorrow!!!!!

Happy Birthday Big Brother! Woke up really early this morning, 7:30am to be exact. Woohoo? I got a lot done though. Lots of KDP stuff and some lesson plans too! Got some quality watching TV vegging time in both this morning and last night. 14 hours later, still not done with all my work. Finished my kick ass (rough draft) of the power point thing though. The things that get done when I'm up to all hours of the night! 36 hours and counting til NASHVILLE!!!!!!!! Robin's coming back! To AMC, not GH, but still! GH is boring so I'll just switch shows for awhile. ;)

A few countdowns to share with you - 2 days til I leave for Nashville, 1 month til the anxiously awaited May 16th, (Last day of school!), 7 months til Harry Potter! :) I realized today that I have to do anything last Thursday, Friday, Saturday, or Sunday, I have tomorrow off, and then I have Thursday, Friday, Saturday, and Sunday off again!  How awesome is that?  It will catch up with me later, but that's ok.  I will enjoy this break while it lasts!  Boston Public was new tonight, woohoo!  Thank goodness our web site isn't as racy as Lisa Holt's! :)

Something I forgot on my bio - I'd like to thank the people who raise Turduckens from babies in order for me to have quality meat on holidays. I know they run in the wild with Jackolopes out there somewhere! :) Countdown is 3 1/2 days til vacation!!! There is even going to be giant Twister! I am psyched. Do people even use that word anymore? Eh, I do! Please, please, please Mr. Weather Man, sir, could you make it nice weather when I'm there? I'd really really appreciate it!

A line from RENT comes to mind - "I'm sick of grading papers, that I know." I work and work and work, but they never seem to get done. Of course, currently I'm sitting here and writing rather than grading, but gimme a break - it's Easter weekend! I saw "Encore!" and then drove home. One of the phone calls at my house was actually for me! How exciting!

One more day, one more play! It's Friday the 13th. Lucky or unlucky? Eh, not so much of either. Finally got to actually see Arsenic and Old Lace. It was really funny, but all the lines meshed together so I don't know if I have any good one liner quotes. Fell asleep during the movie we rented, so I can't tell you how it was. Sleep, ah, how sweet it is! Oh, and I found out that we got a 37/40 on our science lesson plan, which, from this woman, is pretty darn good. Especially since 2 of the 3 points were lost on bibliography. Not too shabby, if I do say so myself. I guess staying up til 3am did the trick. :)

4-12-01
Quite the day. We found a bunch of balloons sitting around after some event, so we took them home with us. Not quite as many in the car as after prom, but still, a whole bunch! We worked at the play yet another night, 4 down 1 to go. Did I mention I passed the Praxis I? Even with the whole timing ordeal. Whew! Perfect score on the math, too! (Sorry, this is my place to brag!) On to the expensive ones that make me prove I actually know something about teaching! Amber got kicked off tonight. Now we have a major moral dilemma. Every week instead of picking who I hate the most, its coming down to who can I handle living without? I guess Keith and Colby could go now, even if I do kind of like Colby. But it isn't fair that he keeps winning all the challenges. He's the only young buff guy there. Mark Burnnett should give a mind challenge or something to make it more fair. Ok that's all I have to say about that.

Taos closed this weekend for the season. How weird that they were open when I was there with 6 inches and closed now that they have 95! Spring is a weird time to ski I suppose. Vandy lost power tonight, which greatly amused those of us at public school. :) Crazy day, started early, will end late, turned in all my projects. Got a 58/60 in math. Betsy is acting like Linda did in high school after the whole "trashy beginner" thing - kissing up big time. Found out we're excused from the afternoon of teaching to go to honors day, aren't they nice? Now that crazy week is over, methinks it is time to clean the room! Did you see Dawson's tonight? I cried the whole time.  Except for when I was laughing at myself for crying.  Why can I actually feel what Dawson feels inside? I am so pathetic! :)

4-10-01

Wanna know how pathetic I am? I could tell you exactly where I was and exactly what I was doing exactly 6 years ago today.  I know because I remember dates and important happenings.  It was the day I was supposed to get my permit but Andy broke his leg and was in the hospital so I couldn't.  What a sister I am to remember this, eh?  Yanks won it in the 9th, woohoo! Didja ever think you'd hear me say that?  Mike didn't get the win but he didn't get the loss either.  He gave up a homer though, in true Mike fashion.  Found out today I'm one of 5 to win "Outstanding Junior in Education." Go figure.  I'm outstanding.  Who would have guessed?  Found out yesterday that the dead uncle I never knew left me $1600.  That's pretty outstanding too.  Natalie found the missing cell phone - it was in a coffee mug way high up in the cabinet.  I wonder how it got there?

4-9-01

Well, it's currently 86 degrees outside according to Weather Bug.  Can't you tell we live in Delaware?  Yesterday (Obviously a weekend day) it was 40 and raining.  We went outside and pretended to play basketball, while really succeeding only in annoying those there who really can play.  We wore shorts though, and that's what matters!  I found out I have a reprieve on my friction lesson plan since the whole class couldn't get the rubric open other than me.  But it's all good becuase it's better to stay up til 3am doing homework on a day when you don't have to get up til 10:30 rather than a day when you have to get up at 6:30!
